Demystifying Gender Myths in the Beauty Industry

Demystifying Gender Myths in the Beauty Industry

Traditionally, some careers and industrial placements have been perceived to be reserves of a certain gender and not the other. Careers in tech, engineering, transport, and most physically demanding jobs are dominated by men. And, careers in the beauty industry are perceived to be women’s strongholds. However, men have made remarkable strides in fashion, design, modeling, and beauty to the amazement of many. The paradox is, in the beauty service industry many ladies would prefer to be served by gents than fellow ladies.

Lately, quite a number of men have decided to pursue this path of previously uncharted waters. These are the gallant heroes who have broken the glass ceiling and challenged the status quo while cushioning themselves from scarcity of opportunities in the traditionally embraced fields of the male gender. While it is apparent there a massive greener pastures and streams of magic waters for men in the beauty industry, stigma and intolerance to men who pursue this dream is equally a retrogressive force. Parents, siblings, and peers would treat careers in the beauty industry as feminine, overly casual, and without prestige. This has left the industry grappling with demand for male beauticians, hairdressers, make-up artists, and masseurs to complete the symphony of great melodies already created by their female counterparts.

It is for this reason, that The Top Rose Beauty College has opened doors for all genders to share space and acquire the invaluable skills that the beauty service industry is so much in need of. We encourage men to break free from the mental captivity of retrogressive traditions and beliefs. We call upon the boy child to wake up to the new career dynamics and grasp the opportunity in an industry that is more receptive to the male gender than no other. We not only train with excellence but also help our graduates secure job placements to kick-start their career journeys without much delay. Therefore, let us tell young men around us about this opportunity the way we would to the ladies.

Best of wishes. And See you soon.
